South Africa national roll out of adherence clubs

Context

In South Africa, the national Department of Health has released an adherence guidance policy. Adherence clubs are implemented by provincial departments of health with guidance from this policy. Implementing partners include Right to Care, Kheth’Impilo, and the Foundation for Professional Development, with support from The Global Fund. Adherence clubs are also being piloted within the NHI pilot districts in each province.

Who is eligible for this model?

Same ART regimen for 12 months, 1st or 2nd line ART, 2 consecutive undetectable VLs, no active TB, no condition requiring regular clinical follow-up, adult (>18 years)
